Trade School Careers, Jobs & Salaries

Trade schools offer a wide variety of programs. Most are career-focused, so students can go right into their chosen trade after graduation. This training is helpful in getting high-quality, entry-level employment, or for improving job prospects and pay within the student's chosen field.

There are many, many fields where career education can be helpful. Some are included here, along with some job titles and salary figures. Students interested in a specific field should talk to the career counselors of their intended trade school, and do some targeted research.

Arts & Design

Artists and designers are responsible for developing an idea into a practical, tangible plan that others can use. For example, architects and designers help to design plans for new buildings or for remodeling existing buildings. They use computers extensively, but must still have a good art background. They also need good communications skills.

Culinary

Culinary students learn to prepare dishes or manage restaurants and other facilities. No matter which specialty they choose, these students are prepared for employment through hands-on training.

Health

Health professionals assist physicians, surgeons and others in the emergency, surgery, or day-to-day care of people. They perform many important functions, from monitoring a patient during surgery, to taking blood samples, to counseling patients on nutrition or new medications.
